The Components Of A Concrete Plant

Concrete plants are designed into various types to match individual needs. These differences assist in catering to different requirements. The two main concrete plant types include:

• Wet Mix Concrete Plant
• Dry Mix Concrete Plant

The Components Of Concrete Batching Mixing Plants

Concrete plants have several accessories and parts that work together in order to produce high-quality concrete. Below is a list of the main components:

• Aggregate Feeders

The feeding units are among the most important components. This component features side-by-side bins to facilitate the feeding of sand and coarse aggregates. There are also various types of bins that hold various-sized aggregates or sand in different compartments. The reason for the separate bins has to do with each material being weighed (separately) according to a designated mix ratio.

• Aggregate Weigh Conveyor

The weigh conveyor for the concrete plant(plantas de concreto) is generally installed under the aggregate feeder(s). This part is hanging and suspended on the load cells. This part weighs each of the aggregates and then transfers each one to a charging conveyor. The discharging of the aggregates to a weigh conveyor occurs through the “opening and closing” of the pneumatic cylinders.

• Charging Conveyor

The skip or charging conveyor carries the weighed aggregates to a mixing unit.

• Cement Weigh Scale

This scale holds cement in small quantities which comes from the cement hopper/ silo through something known as the screw conveyor. The role of this component is to weigh aggregates before they are dispatched into a mixing unit.

• Water Weigh Scale

This scale holds and weighs the water according to the set recipe via a control panel. From here, the scale will add the weighed water to the mixing unit. go to my site: https://aimixgrupo.com.mx/mini-planta-de-concreto/

• Additive Weigh Scales

Suspended on the load cells, these weight scales weigh each additive material before they are transferred into a mixer.

• Hopper/ Cement Silo With Screw Conveyor

The hoppers or cement silos hold cement in large volumes that are delivered in large trucks. The screw conveyor is installed at the bottom which enables cement to be transferred into a weigh hopper.

• Mixing Unit

This is the main component of any concrete plant(planta de concreto fija). The mixer’s role involves receiving the required ingredients and thoroughly mixing them within a set time. The concrete mixture is then discharged into either concrete pumps or transit mixers.

• Air Compressor

The air compressor controls every pneumatic operation of a concrete-batch mixer such as closing and opening of the cylinders that operate the feeder gates, closing and opening of mixing unit gates, and closing and opening of the butterfly valves that are fitted to the weigh hoppers.

• Control Panel

The control panel of AIMIX concrete plant is used to control each working operation of these machines. It assists with the accurate and efficient measurements of each ingredient. The latest of these machines come equipped with PLC panels which promotes easy and simple operation. With the increasing demands for accurate and quality concrete, it has become more important than ever to produce materials of quality with minimal wastage. This is where the control panels assist with controlling every component of the plant.
